Located one hour north of Cincinnati in Oxford, Ohio, Square D Company is a leading manufacturer of busway and wire management systems. With an average of more than 90 different parts a day, Square D needed nesting software that was not only highly customizable and compatible with their Trumpf TC-500 punching machine, but also and perhaps most importantly had a proven track record.
Optimation's® OptiPunch provided the answer. The software enabled the company to take DXF files and MRP requirements and convert them automatically into working nests.
After installation, Square D was able to reassign the 10 people who had been doing the nesting process manually. In addition, the company has been able to reduce stockpiled inventory from 14-day-demand level to what it anticipates will be needed for only the next three days.
